With regrets Trustees accepted the resignation of our Alternate Member to the Medina Co. Council on Aging; Lee Sylvester. They then appointed Bob Benson to fill the position and thanked him for accepting.

She reports their funding has been drastically cut for next year. The van which took people to out of County hospitals and doctors has been cut. However, the meals program will continue. Currently meals are delivered in every township in Medina County, 3 of them to Granger residents.

On February 11th a new service "211" will be coming to Medina County. This will be a non-emergency information and referral service. It will ring into Social Services who will refer people to someone who can answer their questions. The service will be funded by the Medina County Commissioners and United Way.

Both an Alzheimer and Parkinson's Support Groups meet monthly at the Office for Older Adults.

Volunteers are always needed. If you would like to help give them a call.

If you need help on which Medicare Prescription Discount Drug Card you should choose or whether it would be to your benefit to take one of these cards you may contact the Office for Older Adults in Medina. There are 62 companies involved with 49 of them doing business in Ohio. Drug companies can change the prices of their drugs every 7 days.

The Office of Older Adults, 246 Northland Drive in Medina has many activities for Seniors. Wheel of Fortune meets every Friday in back dining room from 10:30 - 11:15. This is a just for fun event with no prizes.
Exercise is available Mondays & Fridays at 10:45 am.
Bingo, Pinocle, Jeopardy, Movies, Crochet Classes and much more are all available during the week. Call them at 330/723-9514 for more details.

The Office for Older Adults puts out a very informative resource booklet for Seniors. A copy is available to look at in the Twp. Administration Building, as well as in Medina.

Did you know 225 meals each day are provided by this Dept. for Seniors throughout the County? These are not Meals On Wheels. 51% of the cost is paid for by the Western Reserve Consortium and 49% by the County Commissioners.
