We have become aware of a discrepancy in the Zoning Resolution. It appears our General Regulations call for placement of an accessory building 30 ft from the side lot line, while the regulations in R-1 say 15 feet. It has been generally accepted practice and the intention of the Zoning Com. to require the 15 feet. Ass't. Prosecutor William Thorne noted that when there is a conflict in terminology we need to go with the most restrictive.
Thus, in order to correct this the Zoning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on August 10th at 7:30 PM. The Hearing is to:
Amend Article II, General Provisions, Section 203.D.5.a text by omitting the following two words, 'rear yard'. The amended sentence shall read, "Accessory buildings shall not be located closer to lot lines than the minimum requirements of the district in which they are located".
Subsequent to the conclusion of the Zoning Commission's Public Hearing on the Amendment, it will be submitted for recommendation to the Granger Township Board of Trustees for action.
Copies of the proposed text amendment will be available for public examination from 9-11 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at the Granger Township Administration Building, 3717 Ridge Road, Medina, OH.
