FIRE LEVY: The one mill fire levy renewal will be on the ballot November 2nd. There will be no additional cost to voters.

ZONING STAFF CHANGES : Zoning Inspector Nancy West has been granted a Leave of Absence effective August 30, 2010. Trustees hired Annie George as Interim Zoning Inspector and Marie Yambor as Interim Zoning Secretary.

FIRE DEPT. GLOVES: Trustees approved the purchase of 32 pair of new fire gloves for fire dept. members that comply with all safety requirements at a cost of $60.00 each.

NEW RESCUE SQUAD: Delivery of the new rescue squad is anticipated for August 2nd. It will then be sent for lettering and is expected to be in service by September. Cost of the new squad is $141, 938.17.

ZONING ANNUAL REPORT: Zon. Inspector Nancy West advised she had issued 80 permits in 2009 vs 137 in 2008, 3 new homes vs 13 in 2008, 13 additions vs 24, 16 outbuildings vs 17, 2 pools vs 6, 8 decks vs 13, 2 conditionals vs 9, 6 variances vs 5, and 8 lot splits vs 16.

CEMETERY ANNUAL REPORT: In 2009 there were 8 cemetery lots sold, 12 burials and 8 foundations put in. 2008 had 12 cemetery lots sold, 11 burials and 7 foundations.

NEW SEXTON: Effective Jan. 1, 2010 Rita Feess was hired as Granger Township Sexton. Rita had been the Sexton some years ago and we are delighted to welcome her back.

ADDITIONAL FIRE DEPT. HOURS: Due to the success of having two Paramedics or Adv. EMT's on duty at the Fire Station weekdays from 8-4 Chief Hadam recommended and Trustees agreed to have two people also on duty on both Saturday and Sunday. This has cut response time considerably to hurt, ill, and injured people.. A Squad cannot leave the station legally on a call unless it is manned by at least two experienced personnel.

ZONING BOARD MEMBERS: Former Trustee and Zoning Inspector, William Riebau was appointed to the Zoning Board of Appeals. David Dorow was moved from an alternate position to full member of the Zoning Commission. Stephen Hummel (at his request) was moved from a full position on the Commission to an alternate position.

CABLE TV POSTING POLICY: Based on an opinion from the Medina Co. Prosecutor's Office with First Amendment Concerns The Trustees adopted a cable TV posting policy as follows: that Granger Township limit programming and announcements to local government notices or local government sponsored activities on the township cable TV station.

MINOR SUBDIVISION AND LOT SPLITS APPROVAL: Signatures approving minor subdivisions and lot splits will be valid for 60 days from the date of signing effective Jan. 1, 2003. Prior to that date there was no deadline to the signature approvals.

OLDER ADULTS INFORMATION: Lodi Hospital offers a Respite Care Program. For more information call 330/948-1222. The Office for Older Adults continues to offer free meals to home bound seniors - call 330/723-9514. A $3.00 lunch is available at the OOA center on Wednesday and Fridays for seniors.
